The endemic  Red-fronted Macaw. We traveled a long way just for this bird which nests in very specific cliffs in a very remote semi-desert area.

Our bus and driver are in the background. After seeing the macaw’s we were on our way to our next place to spend the night but were informed that our highway had been shut down for at least 4 hours so crews could dynamite.
